WILLIAMS ANGERS AUSSIE PM

Robin Williams does not know the difference between funny and offensive. The actor appeared on Letterman's show recently and said the Australian ppl are "basically English rednecks". He went on to insult my country by saying Australia was an "unusual country", adding: "If [Charles] Darwin had landed in Australia, he'd have gone, 'I'm wrong - I don't know what I was thinking'."
Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd took offense and said "I think Robin Williams should go and spend a bit of time in Alabama before he frames comments about anyone being particularly redneck."
Williams response "Nice comeback, way to go K-Rudd, how's the food on the plane, good day." he said in a radio interview.
"I was just there for two weeks, every time I've been in Australia it's been wonderful. I love it down there. Helloooo!"
And to K-Rudd "If the term redneck is offensive forgive me sir ...
"Please let me come back to Australia without a cavity search, and if not I'd love to go to a strip club with you in New York."
Williams claims he made the same redneck joke in Australia doing stand up but as an Australian I cant imagine anyone of my countrymen finding this anything but deeply offensive.
Save yourself the cavity search Williams, don't come back you're not welcome in Australia.
