We all know that life gets tough sometimes especially when we have a dream we're chasing and we feel like somedays we are not getting anywhere. So is the example of Tyler Perry whose road to fame was far from easy. Perry grew up in a home with a violent father who beat him so badly he tried to commit suicide as a kid to escape him. Perry was molested by a friends mother and another friends father before his mother starting taking him to church which became his refuge.
Between ages 22-28 Perry wrote a musical which was slow to take off but his dream inspired him through periods of poverty, hunger, and even homelessness.
Finally in 1998 his sixth rewrite of the script made it a hit and Tyler Perry hit the big time.
He has written, directed and produced as well as starred in seven feature films, and produced for TV. Tyler has one countless awards, and also given millions to charity, never forgetting his humble beginnings.
Tyler Perry is one of the most loved performers in Hollywood and remember that episode of Oprah? Oprah is now one of Tyler's best friends and co-produced the movie Precious with him which is nominated for six Oscars this year.
Tyler Perry is quoted as saying "It doesn't matter if a million people tell you what you can't do, or if ten million tell you no. If you get one yes from God that's all you need."
