MOVIE STAR KATHRYN GRAYSON DIES
February 19th 2010 01:04
Legendary movie musical actress Kathryn Grayson has died aged 88. Miss Grayson who had the voice of an angel starred in MGM's biggest musicals like Kiss Me Kate, Anchors Away and Showboat. She worked with the biggest stars Gene Kelly, Howard Keel, Frank Sinatra and Ava Gardner. She was loved by many, her secretary Sally Sherman said "She was a lady of class and quality, with the greatest sense of humor conceivable."
When I was growing up my grandmother adored Kathryn Grayson and I was lucky enough to be allowed to watch her movies and love her just as much. Kathryn Grayson was an amazing talent, her singing voice could break glass, and yet again I come to realize that the true stars of Hollywood, the stars who made Hollywood what it is today are leaving and we are stuck with their impersonators. It is so disheartening to me that the next generation will grow with Reese Witherspoon as their movie star when in truth she cant even spell the word. Kathryn Grayson is the end of a beautiful era that we will never see again.
