MO'NIQUE TAKES OSCAR

MoNique has won the Best Supporting Actress Award for her role as the abusive mother in Precious. "First, I would like to thank the Academy for showing it can be about the performance and not the politics." She also thanked Tyler Perry and Oprah Winfrey for touching the film.

Christoph Waltz took the award for Best Supporting actor for his role as Nazi officer Hans Landa in Inglorious Basterds.
Waltz said "This is your welcoming embrace. There's no way I can thank you enough, but I can start right now," Waltz said, clutching the golden statuette with both hands.
"Thank you."
