LONG LIVE THE KING
January 9th 2010 08:10
If Elvis Presley were alive today he would be celebrating his 75th birthday but as he's not, everyone else is. Over four days 7th-10th January, Elvis's birthday is on the 8th, his devoted fans gather at Graceland to sing, dance and be merry. Also present was Priscilla, Lisa Marie and Elvis's grandchildren Riley and Ben who as you can see from the pic below is a dead ringer for the King.
She told me he would come in to rehearse in the main dinner theatre where he performed his show around midday. He knew every single person by name, and I mean everyone including the waiters, and always asked after their wives and kids by name. He always inquired into everyone else's lives, their health and if they needed anything. She said he was a very nice man nothing fake about him, a sincere genuine man who cared about other people. I feel priviledged to be able to tell this story not because I'm a huge fan of Elvis, I'm really not, but it's just nice to know that a man known by so many as "The King" was just an ordinary person like the rest of us.
