KATHERINE'S PLAYING MUM

Katherine Heigl as Izzie Stevens

Katherine Heigl is taking time out from Grey's Anatomy to play her newest role, that of 'Mum.' Katherine wants to spend some time bonding with newly adopted daughter Naleigh with husband Josh Kelley. She is not expected back at Grey's until 2010.

It was widely reported that her character Isobel Stevens would be killed off but instead Dr McDreamy will pull double duty for a while. I hope he can perform an emergency appendectomy and have sex with a nurse at the same time.
