IS JAKE DESPERATE?

Jake Gyllenhaal and Rachel McAdams

Jake Gyllenhaal and Rachel McAdams presented an award together at the Oscars last week but is there something more going on?
Backstage they gave interviews and the whole time Jake held her clutch and introduced Rachel to friends saying "This is Rachel McAdams, she's the mother of my child!"

We all love Jake but this sounds weird to me makes him sound desperate and needy because Rachel has been seen and we assume dating Ben Jackson, Jude Law's personal assistant.
So is it true, is Jake just as desperate to hook up as everyone else in Hollywood? We know he wants to get married and have kids asap.
Calling a woman your baby mama even if its a joke when shes dating someone else is kinda weird. Some think Rachel and Jake are dating after his comments but they have not been seen together in the past few months, hes single, shes with Ben.
