IS DENNIS HOPPER REALLY NEAR DEATH?

There are many conflicting reports about Dennis Hopper and exactly how sick he is. His daughter claims he's fighting "the battle from hell", reputable news sources claim is he medicated and near death, friends claim Dennis is so heavily medicated that he cannot even make a decision. Basically the reports I'm reading make it sound like Hopper will die any second, and is completely bedridden. But it seems these reports are all garbage because Dennis Hopper was seen out and about on Thursday looking quite well, still wearing his wedding ring even though he is divorcing his wife, and shopping for marijuana, or at least browsing in a store that sells the drug. Dennis may be needing the weed for medicinal purposes it does help some ppl with pain and cancer is painful, or maybe Dennis is having his daily reefer like he has for the past fifty years. We all know he's no angel and I bet no one would be surprised if he smokes. But the question is: Is Dennis as sick as reports say, is he close to death, or is he really doing a great job fighting cancer? Whatever it is I'm sure his fans will be happy to know he was seen out and looking good. Unless he takes a turn for the worse, I don't think Dennis is going anywhere for now, but with all these mixed reports you just never know.
