Golden Globe Gift Bag

Everyone who attends the Golden Globes this Sunday will receive a gift bag (pictured above) worth $500. What I want to know is, why are Hollywood's elite getting such bags when they not only can afford everything in them but probably already have everything in them?

There's a big deal in Hollywood right now with regards to the earthquake in Haiti, an outpouring of grief. George Clooney is having a telethon to raise money Brangelina have donated one million dollars. So when George attends the Globes on Sunday will he keep this bag or auction it off on Ebay and donate the money to his telethon? Will any of these uber rich, super famous Hollywood stars sell their gift bag and give the money to charity? And why are they getting these bags, coz they show up? It's meant to be complimentary to be invited to any awards ceremony,what is the gift bag for?
