GOLDEN GIRL ESTELLE GETTY DIES

Estelle Getty the actress who played the wisecracking Sophia Patrillo on the Golden Girls has died aged 84. Getty was in the advanced stages of demetia and passed away at her Los Angeles home. I saw Estelle's co-stars and great friends, Betty White, Rue McClanahan, and Bea Arthur interviewed recently and they said they had spoken to Estelle but she did not remember who they were. The girls share a strong bond and love and I know they will be devestated to hear of Estelle's passing.

The girls spent seven seasons together making us scream with laughter as they played four single women over fifity, living in Miami. All four actresses won an Emmy for their roles and the show won Outstanding Comedy Series twice.
They say Estelle Getty was golden but we all know she was pure platinum. Thanks for the laughs Estelle.
