Andrew McCarthy star of film classics Pretty in Pink and St Elmos Fire will be directing an upcoming episode of Gossip Girl.

Yes for those of you who grew up in the eighties, Mr McCarthy was a huge heart throb, many a teenage girl's fantasy, and it seems he is still quite sexy. Andrew told People magazine about his GG storyline “I can’t give you much. Except, there is a 9 1/2 Weeks kind of thing going on in one story line.”
Is Andrew referring to the scene where Kim Basinger and Mickey Rourke had sex with the fruit and veg in their fridge? Or where Kim danced with a top hat? Either way it sounds interesting, but we have to wait until 2010.
