American Idol cast

Randy ( the man I'd most like to make lasanga for ) Jackson is talking the new series of American Idol which premieres Tuesday.
He told ET about missing Paula Abdul "She's one of my best friends and we speak all the time. The whole thing started with me, Ryan, Simon, and her. I miss that. We look down the table now and I say, 'Where's Paula?' It's going to take a little getting used to.

And of new judge Ellen DeGeneres "I really think her being just a die-hard music fan and just being a really smart, talented person, she's a performer and entertainer herself and she knows about that because that's how she made her career. I think she'll give the expertise from being a fellow entertainer that's hugely successful, and I think she'll give that view from the person at home. She'll give that voice on the judges' panel." I do not recall Ellen ever bringing out a CD of love ballads, and yes I've seen her dance but she's no Gene Kelly. I love Ellen and good on her for getting this gig, but will a music "fan" really make a great judge? I will watch with bated breath.

this season of American Idol sucks. Ellen is the only reason I am watching. 22 of the top 24 are boring.
